This summer, our most popular hot list drink is Kyle’s “The Summer Sting”. It is a simple yet delicious salted honey latte with vanilla cold foam. The salt brings out the coffee's natural sweetness and is perfectly complemented by the sweet cold foam on top. While this drink will only be in our store for a limited time, you can use this recipe to enjoy it year-round as a latte or cold brew drink!
What You’ll Need
-
3 Tablespoons heavy cream
-
2 Tablespoons 2% or whole milk
-
1 Tablespoon Vanilla syrup (storebought or homemade…recipe coming soon :)
-
1 Teaspoon Honey or to taste
-
Java Love Espresso or Cold Brew
-
Choice of milk
-
Pinch of Salt
Step 1:
Start by adding a teaspoon, or more for added sweetness, of honey to your favorite Java Love espresso or cold brew and stir well. It works best added to hot espresso to make a smoother product, but will be great either way!
Step 2:
If you are making a latte, add your preferred milk to the espresso.
Step 3:
There are a couple of different ways to make cold foam at home. You can combine the heavy cream, milk, and syrup in a small jar and shake it for 1-2 minutes until frothy, or you can use a hand-held milk frother, which will produce a more aerated foam.
Step 4:
Add the cold foam to your coffee beverage, top with a pinch of salt, and enjoy!
Sometimes all you need to level up your coffee are common household ingredients like honey and salt. We hope you enjoy this perfect balance of salty and sweet, even after it leaves our seasonal hotlist. Thanks to Kyle for the inspiration!
