Splitrock Reservoir

Located in Boonton, NJ. Splitrock offers a beautiful, wide open reservoir with a boat launch for kayaking as well as trail along the river with abandoned stone structures waiting to be explored. Weather you walk he coasts of the reservoir or take the train into the woods, Splitrocks has variety of features and is easy to get to!
Bear Mountain

Offering a variety of trails, Bear Mountain has panoramic views of the landscapes and nice nooks and crannies for you to rest as you make your way to the top. Stairway to Heaven

Covering multiple terrains, this hike starts off with a walk over a board walk through wet lands before crossing an open field. On the other side the climb begins! Climbing this rocky territory rewards you with a terrific view of the area.
Overlook Mountain

In the town of Woodstock, it’s a straight climb to the top! A rigorous incline with the best rewards on this list. At the summit, the concrete structure of an abandoned hotel rises above the trees with many rooms and stair cases to climb and explore. Keep walking and find the fire tower gives you a panoramic view of the surrounding hills, but that isn’t what the hike is named after. What you came fore is the view from the rock ledge inscribed with the names of fellow hikers before you that offers a sweeping view of the Hudson Valley that goes on and on.
