With the holiday surrounding love peaking around the corner, what better way to show your appreciation for your partner than by making them a red velvet latte in the morning. With Java Love’s large selection of different roasts, you can find the perfect bean for your at home coffee bar. From there all you need to do is make the syrup, and here’s how!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of half and half (or heavy cream)

  • 1 cup of your choice of milk

  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup of sugar

  • ¼ cup of red velvet cake mix

  • Red gel food coloring (or your choice of natural food coloring)

  • A pinch of salt

Steps:

  • Combine milk, half and half, sugar, and red velvet cake mix in a saucepan over medium heat.

  • Whisk until smooth, make sure to not let the mixture boil, just simmer.

  • Once smooth, add a pinch of salt, vanilla extract, and your red food coloring of choice.

  • Once all ingredients are combined, and your mixture is a light pink color you can take the saucepan off the heat. Let the syrup cool down, then transfer to a fridge safe container and store for up to two weeks.

  • Enjoy!!
